Forest of Light II is inspired by the shifting, diffused light within a pine forest. Overhead, sunlight filters through dense foliage, creating a soft, dappled glow. Looking outward, light breaks through the trees—illuminating the forest edge in contrast.
Layered oil paint with silver, and gold leaf is woven into the surface to reflect light and add depth, allowing the image to shift subtly as the viewer moves. Balancing representation with abstraction, the work uses reflection and gentle distortion to invite a quieter, more contemplative way of seeing the landscape.
