Moonlight Birch explores the quiet beauty of a woodland illuminated by the soft glow of the full moon. The pale trunks of the silver birch catch the moonlight, creating a gentle contrast against the darkness beyond. Familiar by day, the woodland is transformed at night into a place of mystery, stillness and reflection.
Built through layers of oil paint, the work focuses on the subtle interplay of light and shadow, inviting the viewer into an immersive landscape where time seems to slow. Inspired by evening walks and the ethereal quality of moonlight filtering through the trees, the painting captures a fleeting moment of calm and contemplation.
Part of my ongoing exploration of woodland landscapes, Moonlight Birch celebrates the restorative power of nature and the quiet beauty found after dark.
